MaSaTECH is a Research Company with a strong focus on all areas of Ion Mobility Spectrometry technique. We are interested in R&D of high resolution and high sensitivity IMS products for various fields of use. Our interest is to share our skills and knowledge from IMS field with our partners. As an original equipment manufacturer we can easily customize and tune our products for specific application, which meets our vision to bring the ion mobility spectrometry technique beyond the limits of possible.
About Us
MaSaTECH has grown on university background and was founded in 2013, with the purpose to provide high sensitivity, real time detection and analytical instrumentation.
The company developed the Advanced IMS spectrometer. The high performance Corona Discharge ion source outperforms the conventional ions sources used in IMS and the high ion current is responsible for the ultra-high sensitivity of the Advanced IMS. In addition to the Advanced IMS, we developed several sampling modules, which allow sampling, analysis and detection of chemical compounds in the gas solids and liquid phases.
ION MOBILITY SPECTROMETRY
HOW DOES IT WORK
The ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) is a powerful analytical technique based on ion molecular interactions in homogenous electric field. The main advantages of this technique are: compact design, high sensitivity (ppb-ppt level), fast response (ms range), operation in atmospheric pressure and ability to separate isomeric compounds. Traditionally the IMS instruments consist of three major parts: ionization region, reaction region and drift tube.
APPLICATIONS

Trace Gas Detection
Advanced IMS operates at atmospheric or sub-atmospheric pressures. The capillary sample inlet allows simple detection of trace compounds in the gas phase. The sample inlet allows combination with additional sampling techniques:
- Capillary inlet for trace gas analysis
- Sample gas flow control
- Headspace sampling
- Easy interface to separation techniques like GC and MCCGC

Solids And Surface Analysis
Two different Surface Sampling Methods have been developed for Advanced IMS. These methods are based on the desorption of the samples from the surface and subsequent detection by Advanced IMS with capillary inlet. The desorption techniques are:
- Laser diode module desorption
- Thermal desorption module for desorption by hot gas stream
- Headspace sampling

Liquid Analysis
MaSaTECH also offers module for analysis of liquids. Liquid sampling module (LSM) allows simple analysis of liquids with IMS. The main advantages of this sampling technique are:
- wide range of liquid flows
- sampling of any liquid, NO need for special solution
- simple interface to Advanced IMS
Products

MCCGC-AIMS PEAK MACHINE
The combination of Multi Capillary Column GC (MCCGC) with ion mobility spectrometer makes this instrument excellent for analysis of liquid and solids samples via the headspace technique. The 2D separation of PeakMachine is based on GC RetentionTime and ion mobility information of each compound.

PORTABLE AIMS
Portable AIMS is small compact analytical instrument. The AIMS engine, AIMS control unit, two digital mass flow controllers and pressure controller are integrated in the box. The Portable Advanced Ion mobility spectrometer offers wide range of setups. It is ideal for users, who are interested in powerful analytical instrument with requirement on portability.

CONFIGURABLE AIMS
Configurable Advanced Ion Mobility Spectrometer (AIMS) is an excellent tool for monitoring fast processes with high sensitivity requirement. In addition to detection of volatile and semi-volatile compounds, our IMS is the only one in the field witch is suitable for solids analysis and surface analysis.

DOUBLE AIMS
The DAIMS is equipped with two high-resolution ion mobility spectrometers continuously working in positive and negative polarity. Thanks to the plasma ionization source and the continuous operation in both polarities, DAIMS offers the highest sensitivity for volatiles organic compounds (VOCs), toxic organic compounds (TOCs), acids and industrial pollutants.

COMPACT AIMS
Compact advanced ion mobility spectrometer is a benchtop analytical instrument that offers all advantages of AIMS technique. The Compact AIMS reaching the resolution 90 FWHM, sufficient for separation of nearly all isomeric compounds. The advanced ion mobility spectrometer works in positive and negative polarity under atmospheric or sub atmospheric pressure.

ZERO AIR GENERATOR + AIR PURIFICATION SYSTEM
The zero air generator and Air purification system were developed in order to secure high purity drift gas for continuous and long term operation of the advanced ion mobility spectrometer. Our purification systems significantly reduce operating costs, improving sensitivity and resolution of the instrument.

MaSaTECH CONTROL SOFTWARE
The MaSaTECH control software was developed for easy and intuitive control of Advanced Ion Mobility Spectrometer. The software allows to manage all AIMS parameters like polarity, temperature, pressure, drift field intensity, shutter grid pulse width, number of spectra for dynamic averaging, AIMS duty cycle and many others. The software allows data acquisition in drift time mode or in reduced mobility mode.

The philosophy of our company is to listen carefully to our partners’ needs. The intensive two day training on Ion mobility spectrometry technique is included in each instrument.
